The Lynskey family is known for establishing Litespeed, one of the premier titanium bike manufacturers in the world. David Lynskey began building titanium bikes for himself in 1984 in the family’s machine shop. Eventually, he founded Litespeed and led them to dominance in the professional cycling world. In 1999, Litespeed was sold, and the Lynskey brothers founded the Lynskey brand in 2005. They are revered for their American-made frames, which are all manufactured in the US in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 

Despite their success and expert bike-building ability, Lynskey was forced to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2026. They cited rising manufacturing costs, declining margins, high liabilities, and an influx of Shopify chargebacks as their reasons for filing. The filing allows them to keep manufacturing and selling frames during the filing.
